چکیده

Background: Split-thickness skin graft (STSG) covers patient’s primary wound, but, at the expense of a donor-wound which heals by secondary intention. This study evaluated efficacy amnion and calcium alginate dressings STSG donor sites in terms healing duration, patient comfort incidence infection.
Patients methods: An open label randomised control trial was conducted during October 2018 to May 2019. Total 60 patients, aged 20-45 years, were randomly allocated two equal groups. Amnion applied 30 Group A B. phone-called on 1st, 3rd 7th post-operative days site pain scored using numerical rating scale. Donor opened 10th postoperative day signs infection assessed. Lastly, healed, revealing an epithelialized noted.
 Results: included patients (11 females, 19 males) having mean age 31.23 years B (12 11 31.30 years. Average scores 7.6, 6.6 4.4 it 8.2, 6.5 Two cases amnion, 4 got infected. duration A; 14 (p-value = 0.000).
Conclusion: shows quicker better than alginate.

Management of split-thickness skin graft donor sites: a randomized controlled trial of calcium alginate versus polyurethane film dressing.

BACKGROUND Split-thickness skin graft (STSG) donor sites sometimes cause more postoperative morbidity for patients than the wound covered with the graft. Yet, there is no consensus on which dressings are best suited to treat these donor sites. OBJECTIVE To evaluate two commonly used modern wound dressings in the postoperative healing of STSG donor sites in a prospective randomized controlled ...

Split-thickness skin graft donor site management: a randomized controlled trial comparing polyurethane with calcium alginate dressings.

Split-thickness skin grafting (SSG) is a common reconstructive technique for the treatment of patients with deep burns and other traumatic injuries. The management of the donor site after harvesting an SSG remains controversial because of a variety of dressings available for use. The aim of this randomized controlled trial was to compare the effectiveness of a polyurethane dressing, Allevyn™, t...

Evaluation of Six Split-thickness Skin Graft Donor-site Dressing Materials in a Swine Model

BACKGROUND Numerous dressings for split-thickness skin graft donor sites are commercially available with no conclusive evidence-based consensus regarding the optimal dressing choice. This study was conducted to identify which of 5 commonly used materials promotes wound healing most effectively for use on split-thickness donor sites in comparison with our standard dressing, Xeroform (petrolatum ...

Comparison of Three Different Methods of Dressing for Partial Thickness Skin Graft Donor Site

BACKGROUND Split- thickness skin graft is one of the most common operations in plastic surgery. It is always painful and patient discomfort from donor site often is more significant than recipient site. There is not still a standard method for treatment of the donor site. The purpose of this study was to determine the best method of dressing the donor site among three different methods with re...

Evaluation of Human Amniotic Membrane as a Wound Dressing for Split-Thickness Skin-Graft Donor Sites

Human amniotic membrane (HAM) has been used as a biomaterial in various surgical procedures and exceeds some qualities of common materials. We evaluated HAM as wound dressing for split-thickness skin-graft (STSG) donor sites in a swine model (Part A) and a clinical trial (Part B). Part A: STSG donor sites in 4 piglets were treated with HAM or a clinically used conventional polyurethane (PU) foi...
